Cemetery in Orange Township

The Orange Township Fiscal Officer keeps records of the Africa and Williamsville cemeteries and has records of the former Patterson (McCloud) cemetery. Cemetery plots in the Africa Cemetery may be purchased through the Fiscal Officer. Williamsville Cemetery is closed for purchase. 

Director of DCDL named the 2022 Hall of Fame Librarian

The DCDL is pleased to announce that George Needham, Director of the Delaware County District Library, has been named the 2022 Hall of Fame Librarian. This prestigious award recognizes a librarian for his or her career achievements, sustained leadership, commitment to the library profession, and contributions to the community at large.

Delaware County Healthiest in State Eighth Year Straight

The Delaware Public Health District is pleased to announce that Delaware County is the healthiest county in Ohio for the eighth year straight.  The 2022 County Health Rankings issued today places Delaware County as first in Ohio for both health outcomes and health factors. Health outcomes focus on how healthy people are presently and health factors are based on how healthy people will be in the future. The rankings, presented by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, are available online at

E. Powell and Lyra Drive Intersection Construction Starting March 21

This project will extend Lyra Drive from the Lyra Drive Extension project terminus to E. Powell Road. A new roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Lyra Drive and E. Powell Road. Improvements include lighting, drainage, waterline, sanitary, sidewalk, shared use path and landscaping.

Orange Township Announces New Development and Zoning Director

Orange Township announced the new Development and Zoning Director, Robin Duffee.  His official duties will begin on March 9, 2022.  He comes to Orange Township with development experience from Violet Township and a master's degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. Welcome, Robin!


We appreciate the continued support of the Orange Branch of the Delaware County District Library for their continued support of Orange Celebration for 2022 as a Partner.  The Orange Branch as been a long time supporter of our efforts, and we love our local library too!  Thank you for your believing in us, and through your generous Partnership, allowing us to continue to provide a valuable service and resource for our community!  

Delaware County District Library Board Members Take Oath

Delaware, OH: Tuesday at the regular meeting of the Delaware County District Library (DCDL) Board of Trustees, the trustees swore in the slate of officers for 2022.  Notary Public Wendi Foos swore trustees Holly Quaine into the position of President, Scott Tiede into the position of Vice President, and Connie Skinner into the position of Secretary.  Fiscal Officer Angela Cox and Deputy Fiscal Officer Samantha Valesky were also sworn in to their positions for the year.  The remaining Library Trustees include the following members: Brad Allen, Ceena Dinovo Baker and Nickolas K. McCoy.  In the December meeting, Library Director George Needham presented trustees Michael P. Butler and Baker with a gift, honoring their time as President and Secretary of the Delaware County District Library Board of Trustees, respectively.  Butler was originally appointed to fill an unexpired term on the Board of Trustees in November 2005 by the Delaware County Commissioners. He was then reappointed to a full term in January 2008. Throughout Butler's term, he served in a variety of roles, including President from January 2021 through December 2021. His term concluded on December 31, 2021.  Beth Lear was selected by the Delaware County Commissioners to replace Butler with a seven-year term commencing January 1, 2022.  Lear will swear her oath of office during the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on Tuesday, February 15.  Library Board of Trustee meetings generally take place on the third Tuesday of every month at 5 p.m. All meetings for 2022 are currently planned to take place at the Delaware Main Library, until the opening of the Liberty Branch Library.

Join the community that inspired hundreds of people to reach 100 miles/km last year.  Keeping active and spending time outdoors is vital for our mental and physical well-being through the cold winter months. Now, you can stay motivated to walk or run 100 miles or 100 kilometers (62 miles) from January 1 – March 31, 2022.

Olentangy Schools Change Logos

Olentangy Schools changing logos for high schools - You will see a change in 3 of the 4 high school logos and mascots. This includes Liberty, Olentangy and Orange. Berlin will remain the same. 

Orange Township Trustees vote 2-1 against Condo Development 

The land at the northeast corner of Shanahan and North roads will remain undeveloped due to OT trustees rejecting a rezoning request for the 24 acre parcel of land. This was decided at the May 19th public hearing. The dissenting vote was from Ryan Rivers.

Big Walnut Interchange Project 

Discussions regarding the Big Walnut Interchange Project which would help relieve congestion at I-71, Polaris and Gemini Rds has become a priority, according to MORPC (Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission). Actual date of the project has not been announced, but for all of us who are affected by the traffic issues on a daily basis, it will not be soon enough.

Submit Your Orange Township Zoning Permit Online

The program allows applicants to submit zoning permits online and access status updates of submissions. You can also submit a complaint or violation in regards to zoning issues.

Changes coming to Orange Township facility rental process

As of Tuesday, January 7, 2020, there will now be changes to how you can rent Orange Township rooms and shelters!

Planning a block party in Orange Township?

It is now required for all communities to file for a Block Party Application through the township. Cost is $25 when requesting a street to be closed for the party. Applications are reviewed by the Zoning Department, Roads Department and Fire Department for public safety. Applications can take 7 to 14 business days, so please keep this in consideration when planning. Official road closure barricades will be dropped off prior to the party and picked up afterwards. Closing a road without permission will be addressed by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office
