2018 Orange Township Heroes Not Forgotten 5K Fundraiser

WATCH FOR DETAILS ABOUT 2019 FUNDRAISER. Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Orange Township 3rd Annual Heroes Not Forgotten 5k Run/Walk, held on November 10th. It was an exciting event dedicated to honor our veterans. The money raised for this event will go towards the planned Orange Township Veterans Memorial that will be erected on the corner of Orange Rd and South Old State behind the old Town Hall.  If you didn't participate in the race, you can still donate to the cause.  For more information click below:

2019 Supplies For Scholars Main Event, Friday, July 26, 9am - 11am, United Way of Delaware County - School supply FREE event for Delaware County school children. Since launching in 2013, Supplies For Scholars has served over 6,300 Delaware County students ranging from Kindergarten (Pre-Kindergarten) through 12th grade. Last year alone we served over 2,000 children! Since the first year, over $100,000 in donations has been collected to fill book bags with essential school supplies. To better serve the community, the United Way of Delaware County provides supplies to Delaware County school children in every district, as well as those who are home schooled, and students with sensory and special needs. ZOOlentangy, Friday, August 9, 6pm - 10pm, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium - During this evening fundraiser, guests will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the Zoo’s giraffes, within steps of our venue. Various Columbus Zoo animals will also greet ZOOlentangy attendees throughout the event. Tasty cuisine prepared by the zoo chef will be served, and a bar will be available. Additionally, our guests will have an opportunity to place bids on 8-10 themed baskets that will make up our event’s, selective silent auction.  TICKETS available beginning May 15, 2019.All this fun will cost $75 per person, which includes this special event, zoo admission through 8 p.m., parking, giraffe feeding experience and visits from several Columbus Zoo animals. If so inclined, you can purchase VIP tickets for $125 per person, which includes additional visits with Columbus Zoo animals and VIP bar access. OLSD staff cost is set at a special rate of $50 per person for general admittance to the event.  We are actively seeking sponsors for our event. 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer's, Saturday, August 10, Delaware - Every day we experience first hand the affects of Alzheimer's disease. Not only our residents, but the hardships it places on families and caregivers. We are proud to unite and raise money for the Walk to End Alzheimer's®, the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer's disease. Delaware Farm Mudder, Saturday, September 7, 8am - 2pm, Harvest Hills Farm, Delaware - The Delaware Farm Mudder is a 5K, held on a farm, where you will navigate your way through 10+ obstacles. You’ll trudge through mud, crawl, hop, climb, & pull yourself through and over obstacles, and have a blast doing it! This Mud run is different than other mud runs. It’s not only an obstacle course mud run, but it is on a farm and is farm themed.  It is a family friendly event too. There is a kids run for those under the age of 10, plus the kids will love seeing the pigs, goats, and other animals on the farm as well.  All proceeds of this run are donated to Harvest Hills Ministries, specifically Timbernook camp and teen retreats. Ready, Set, GOES! 5K, 1M & Fun Run, Saturday, September 21, 8:15am -  11:30am, Glen Oak Elementary School - Glen Oak Elementary is excited for our 4th annual Ready, Set, GOES race! This event consists of a 5K, 1 Miler and Fun Run. The event will be open to Glen Oak families, as well as the general public. All proceeds raised will benefit the students of Glen Oak Elementary. Each participant will receive a race bag that includes our official race t-shirt along with swag from our local sponsors. Some of our sponsors will be present on race day for you to sample food, pick up information, or ask questions.  LEARN MORE


5K for K9s, Saturday, September 28, 9am - 12pm, Alum Creek State Park Beach - The Friends of the Shelter 5K for K9s is one of our largest annual fundraisers. It is a 5K run or walk and, thanks to our generous sponsors, 100% of the proceeds raised goes directly to the sick and injured dogs! Run or walk with your four-legged friends and then stay for the raffles, silent auctions and prizes for top runners. All participants receive a t-shirt and swag bag full of human and dog goodies! Adoptable dogs from the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center will be there to cheer you on, as well as dogs from other local rescue groups.  LEARN MORE


The Dam Half Marathon and 10k, Sunday, September 29, 8am - 3pm, Alum Creek State Park Beach - The D1 Columbus Dam Half Marathon and 10K will be held at Alum Creek Beach. FREE Post-Race Party after the race just steps from the Finish Line.  Both races conclude with a free post-race tailgate party just steps away from the finish line. Runners receive a complimentary “pigskin buffet” meal and pint of Alum Creek Beach Ale courtesy of Olentangy River Brewing Company. All participants receive an official event shirt and finisher’s medal.  A benefiting partner of the event is Chuck's Kids. Chuck’s Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps kids reach their goals by providing guidance and encouraging participation in athletics.  LEARN MORE


Delaware Turkey Trot, Thursday, November 28, 8:30am - 12pm, Glenwood Commons, Delaware - The Delaware Turkey Trot is a family friendly run/walk on Thanksgiving morning. There is a Kid’s run (Little Gobbler) for ages 8 and under. There is a 5K and a 2mile option for the run/walk. Run for a Cause. This event donates 100% of it’s proceeds to the Autism Society of Central OH (ASCO). We’ve donated $117,500 to date. So come out and create a great family Thanksgiving tradition. Each participant receives a long-sleeve shirt, pumpkin pie, goody bag, and post race food/refreshments. Kid’s participants receive a shirt too!  LEARN MORE

In the past year, Connections matched 1,381 individual volunteers who engaged in over 19,750 hours of service to the community.
